OWI Lawyer
Driving on the road can be a dangerous undertaking, especially when someone else on the road is driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. It’s important to know how to stay safe from people who might be operating while under the influence, and an experienced OWI lawyer from Hall-Justice has provided helpful advice on how to protect yourself:
1) Drive Defensively
This means being aware of your surroundings, keeping your distance from other cars, and making sure to yield the right-of-way to other drivers. Be mindful of any possible road hazards, like debris on the road or potholes, and adjust your speed accordingly. When you’re at intersections, don’t assume that other drivers are paying attention — always check for oncoming traffic before you make a turn. You should also be cautious of drivers who seem to be driving too fast or too slow. Always be prepared to take evasive action if necessary.
2) Watch for Erratic Driving
If you see a vehicle swerving in and out of lanes, braking suddenly, or driving significantly over or under the speed limit, it’s best to stay clear and report it to the police if possible. Erratic drivers can cause dangerous accidents that can injure or kill innocent people. Pay close attention to drivers around you, and if you spot erratic behavior, try to move away and be extra cautious until you are out of the area. Don’t forget to keep your eyes on the road at all times so that you don’t miss signs of potential danger.
3) Look out for Drivers Who Are Swerving
If you see a car swerving in and out of lanes, there’s a good chance the driver is operating under the influence. Keep your distance and avoid getting too close to a vehicle like this. Make sure to take note of their license plate number and alert the police if you think someone is driving while impaired. If you can safely move out of their way, do so. Otherwise, reduce your speed and give them plenty of space.
4) Be Extra Cautious at Night
It is important to be extra cautious when driving at night, as people who are operating while under the influence often drive after dark. When out at night, you should be more alert than usual and keep your eyes open for drivers who might be intoxicated. Look out for drivers that are swerving, driving erratically, or not following traffic laws. If you see a vehicle matching this description, slow down and allow them plenty of space. Finally, remember to always buckle up and drive safely.
5) Call the Police
If you suspect that someone is driving while under the influence, it’s important to call the police right away. It is illegal to operate a vehicle while impaired, and law enforcement officers can investigate the situation and take action if needed. When making the call, be sure to provide as much information as possible including the exact location, make and model of the car, and any other details that might be helpful in identifying the driver. In addition to being safer for you, reporting a potential OWI can help save lives and keep everyone on the road safe.
If you get into an accident, contact a lawyer near you for help.

Posted on AnonymousTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I was facing a charge of Reckless Driving for speeding on I66 at midnight. This is considered a Class 1 Misdemeanor in the state of Virginia. Having something like Reckless Driving on your record is on par with having a DUI. This charge also carries a chance for jail time (up to a year). I was incredibly scared because I had never faced such a charge. And looking into Virginia Law, my speed exceeded 90mph, which is quite serious. I retained Dave Albo to help me with this case. Since my record was clean, Dave had advised I do the following before my trial. * Take a DMV Driver's Improvement Course * Take a Behavior Modification Course * Do 100 hours of community service * Print my DMV Record one week before the trial On the day of my trial, Dave got my Reckless Driving charge REDUCED to a regular Speeding charge. This was the absolute best case scenario for me. No criminal record. No jail time. No suspension of license. I did receive 6 demerit points and had to pay a fine of $250 (plus court fees). But that's a slap on the wrist, compared to what I could have been facing. Thank you Dave Albo for helping me through this ordeal!Posted on TomTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dave albo it's a fantastic lawyer. Dave was my attorney recently for a car accident where I needed someone to represent me in court. After exchanging all necessary information he reassured me when the court date came that there wouldn’t be anything to worry about. On the day of court a couple problems arose and Dave was able to rectify them quickly, told me everything I need to say if needed and when it was all over he got my violation reduced significantly. I hope to never go to court again but if I do I will being calling Dave again.Posted on Amanda StallardTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
