We are often asked if pursing a bid protest is worth the time, effort, and money. Obviously, the disposition of any case depends on the facts and circumstances of each case. However, as Newsday today reported, it costs on average $128,000 to bid on a contract. Considering that a bid protest can often cost no more than $48,000 in the Court of Federal Claims, and can result in a favorable disposition, it is not surprising that many contractors often file bid protests when the wrong company gets the contract.
